Legal Identity & Regulatory Status

JAK Money Changer is operated by PT Jakarta Arta Kencana, a limited liability company organised under Indonesian law as a Kegiatan Usaha Penukaran Valuta Asing Bukan Bank (KUPVA BB) — a non-bank foreign-exchange business licensed under Bank Indonesia Regulation No. 18/20/PBI/2016. This status means the company is authorised to buy and sell foreign banknotes and traveller's cheques, and remains under Bank Indonesia's ongoing supervision for as long as its licence is active.

Under this regulation, a licensed KUPVA BB must hold a company bank account in its own legal name, set exchange rates according to a documented and accountable policy, and provide consumer protections including information transparency and complaint handling — commitments detailed further on our Official Contacts & Fraud Awareness.

Licence renewal note: a KUPVA BB licence is valid for 5 years and must be renewed — it is not a one-time, unsupervised authorisation.

Three licensed offices

Our Office Structure

PT Jakarta Arta Kencana operates through one head office and two branch offices, each carrying its own Bank Indonesia licence number, published here and on each office's own page for independent verification.

Mega Kuningan is recorded with Bank Indonesia as the company's head office; Gading Serpong and Rawa Bokor operate under their own branch licences. All three remain part of the same Bank Indonesia-licensed legal entity.
